Trying Something New

I thought that it was about time to try out this midi ring craze that's going on! I got this from River Island, FOR TWO POUNDS MIGHT I ADD! Which I thought was a bargain and can't really go wrong if I don't like it!
At the moment, I'm not quite sure. I think maybe I chose the wrong one, I'm going to try some plain band ones and see but I think they make my crooked fingers look worse!

I also thought I'd try out Barry M Textured Nail Effects, I chose the Kingsland Road colour because it matches the top that I got for my first day at my new job, which you can see in the background. That's right, new job, new top, everything new! The job is at new look, which means 50% off everything, yay! My poor bank account...
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this textured effect. The ends smooth out a bit, as you can see in the picture, which is a bit annoying and sometimes it catches. I think personally I prefer nice thick and smooth nail varnish!

You can get the above things I have mentioned here

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Pink Zodiac Constellation

Left to Right:
Barry M Nail Paint - Baby Pink and Strawberry IceCream. Natural Collection - White Tip. Nails by Topshop -  Tingle. Front - Unknown. Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint - Papaya and Prickly Pear.

I created the base coat with a light pink shimmer varnish and then sponged the various pink/purple colours over the top of that.

I did these for Nail Pornography's Zodiac 'NOTW' competition, so if you see this in time - please vote!
Thank you

Tiny Floral

I used Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in:
(Left to Right)
Lychee
Prickly Pear
Papaya
Passionfruit

These are pretty simple as well, but I like how they look. They're girly but not over the top and were so easy to achieve that hopefully they inspire others!

Glitter Gradient

I can't resist a bit of glitter gradient if I have no idea what to do to my nails!
& since I ordered gems for my halloween outfit, I thought I'd stick the left overs on haha

Pretty simple, but I liked them :)

Day 7

Black and White Nails

I am in love with these and even more in love with how long they've lasted! I've had these on for 5 days, that never happens - they would normally have chipped by now!

I used
Barry M Nail Paint - Black
Barry M Nail Paint - Matte White
Sally Hansen - Golden Rule

The Sally Hansen one is from the newest collection and as far as a review goes.. 5 out of 5! I love it so much. You don't get many good gold glitters around, normally they're too yellow or the clear is yellow but this, I just love it.

I didn't have much in mind when I did these, but they're pretty simple but so many people have commented on liking them! So I'm glad about that, hope you do too!

I feel like I'm setting a tradition with an extra picture at the end now and since I did these when visiting home, here's a picture of my cutie cat who keeps me company all the time..

"Wake up May, I want a cuddle!"

Day 6

Violet Nails

*Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint - Prickly Pear.*
Which is the cutest name I've come across so far!

2 coats.

*Added Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint - Papaya. & Barry M Nail Effects Nail Paint - Gold Foil Effect*

This ^ was my final design. I just wanted something simple, but not so simple that it was boring! They were originally going to be diamonds but that took too long so I went with ovals instead. I actually quite like them, even though I can't get a good bloody photo of them! I don't know why, I blame the lighting. I'm going to make a lightbox soon :)

I loved the colours individually which is why I put them together, I know they're nothing special but sometimes you just don't have enough time!

I hope you all at least kind of like them, like I kind of do!

P.S: Here's a cute picture of my cat, who sat with me being ridiculously cute the whole time I was getting angry trying to take a decent picture of my nails! I never got one, but at least his face made me happy.

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Hand and Cuticle Care

*Not a fantastic quality image - will update picture when I get the chance*

The Body Shop: Almond Hand and Nail Cream & Almond Nail and Cuticle Oil.

I was recently asked on Tumblr:

"Could you do a post on how you do and maintain your cuticles please? Yours look so neat and I have no idea how to make mine look pretty!"

Truth be told, until recently, I literally did nothing. I very rarely pushed my cuticles back, only if I had hangnails and I never used creams or oils. Until I started work, where my hands and nails become quite dry and brittle.

Because of that I brought these two products, that I have only recently started using.

First of all, they both smell beautiful! I love the smell, so that's always a bonus. Since I haven't been using them that long, I will update on them again later.

So far, they are both very nice products, keeping my hands soft and my cuticles, nails and skin all looking nice which is effectively the idea of the product - what more could I possibly want!

Day 5

Blue Nails

Revlon - Midnight Sapphire

I did these nails pretty quickly, since I haven't done any in so long I was just desps to do some!
I actually like how these come out on the middle finger and ring finger, the rest are a bit dodgy and I smudged the pointer by accident :(

I was inspired by this Cami top - which I'll probably end up buying when I get paid because I love it. I clearly love Topshop too much too, swear all my inspiration comes from there!

Anyway! I hope you like these kinda girly daisy theme nails!

Day 4

Green Nails!

I used multiple green colours, and Gold Dust Illusion Nail Polish from Accessorize, which I love just on it's own anyway - I'll upload a picture of that another day! The glitter was from this set from Topshop.
I like how they come out, they're so simple but they look quite nice, I think ha! Especially for green, I've never been a fan of green nails, but these aren't just plain so maybe that's why! In a different colour I'd definitely like them.

I put gold flowers on the bare nails, but I can't find the photo right now! Will upload later!

Hope you like! xxx

Cupcakes!

I made a few little cupcakes for my neighbour's 50th, I think they came out so cute I'm so pleased with them! She liked them too, haha!
Happy birthday Brenda xxx
