Tiny Floral

I used Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in:
(Left to Right)
Lychee
Prickly Pear
Papaya
Passionfruit

These are pretty simple as well, but I like how they look. They're girly but not over the top and were so easy to achieve that hopefully they inspire others!

Glitter Gradient

I can't resist a bit of glitter gradient if I have no idea what to do to my nails!
& since I ordered gems for my halloween outfit, I thought I'd stick the left overs on haha

Pretty simple, but I liked them :)

Day 7

Black and White Nails

I am in love with these and even more in love with how long they've lasted! I've had these on for 5 days, that never happens - they would normally have chipped by now!

I used
Barry M Nail Paint - Black
Barry M Nail Paint - Matte White
Sally Hansen - Golden Rule

The Sally Hansen one is from the newest collection and as far as a review goes.. 5 out of 5! I love it so much. You don't get many good gold glitters around, normally they're too yellow or the clear is yellow but this, I just love it.

I didn't have much in mind when I did these, but they're pretty simple but so many people have commented on liking them! So I'm glad about that, hope you do too!

I feel like I'm setting a tradition with an extra picture at the end now and since I did these when visiting home, here's a picture of my cutie cat who keeps me company all the time..

"Wake up May, I want a cuddle!"

Day 6

Violet Nails

*Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint - Prickly Pear.*
Which is the cutest name I've come across so far!

2 coats.

*Added Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint - Papaya. & Barry M Nail Effects Nail Paint - Gold Foil Effect*

This ^ was my final design. I just wanted something simple, but not so simple that it was boring! They were originally going to be diamonds but that took too long so I went with ovals instead. I actually quite like them, even though I can't get a good bloody photo of them! I don't know why, I blame the lighting. I'm going to make a lightbox soon :)

I loved the colours individually which is why I put them together, I know they're nothing special but sometimes you just don't have enough time!

I hope you all at least kind of like them, like I kind of do!

P.S: Here's a cute picture of my cat, who sat with me being ridiculously cute the whole time I was getting angry trying to take a decent picture of my nails! I never got one, but at least his face made me happy.

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Hand and Cuticle Care

*Not a fantastic quality image - will update picture when I get the chance*

The Body Shop: Almond Hand and Nail Cream & Almond Nail and Cuticle Oil.

I was recently asked on Tumblr:

"Could you do a post on how you do and maintain your cuticles please? Yours look so neat and I have no idea how to make mine look pretty!"

Truth be told, until recently, I literally did nothing. I very rarely pushed my cuticles back, only if I had hangnails and I never used creams or oils. Until I started work, where my hands and nails become quite dry and brittle.

Because of that I brought these two products, that I have only recently started using.

First of all, they both smell beautiful! I love the smell, so that's always a bonus. Since I haven't been using them that long, I will update on them again later.

So far, they are both very nice products, keeping my hands soft and my cuticles, nails and skin all looking nice which is effectively the idea of the product - what more could I possibly want!

Day 5

Blue Nails

Revlon - Midnight Sapphire

I did these nails pretty quickly, since I haven't done any in so long I was just desps to do some!
I actually like how these come out on the middle finger and ring finger, the rest are a bit dodgy and I smudged the pointer by accident :(

I was inspired by this Cami top - which I'll probably end up buying when I get paid because I love it. I clearly love Topshop too much too, swear all my inspiration comes from there!

Anyway! I hope you like these kinda girly daisy theme nails!

Day 4

Green Nails!

I used multiple green colours, and Gold Dust Illusion Nail Polish from Accessorize, which I love just on it's own anyway - I'll upload a picture of that another day! The glitter was from this set from Topshop.
I like how they come out, they're so simple but they look quite nice, I think ha! Especially for green, I've never been a fan of green nails, but these aren't just plain so maybe that's why! In a different colour I'd definitely like them.

I put gold flowers on the bare nails, but I can't find the photo right now! Will upload later!

Hope you like! xxx

Cupcakes!

I made a few little cupcakes for my neighbour's 50th, I think they came out so cute I'm so pleased with them! She liked them too, haha!
Happy birthday Brenda xxx

Day 3

Yellow Nails!

Rimmel (I ♥ Lasting Finish) - 280 Sunshine

So I used this yellow for the base coat, which I'm not sure I'd recommend. I don't want to insult rimmel, but it was very streaky, this was 4 quite thick coats. Maybe if you have the patience to do more thin coats then go for it or if you love the colour that much but I think finding another yellow may be a better idea!

I was really excited to do these and they aren't very good :(
I'm quite annoyed!

I had half an hour to do them because I needed to get ready to go gym and
needed a bit of time for them to dry, so they were really rushed!

I wanted something summery, since it was yellow it was always going to be summery, but I chose the brightest yellow possible and added watermelon - what could BE more summery!?
I really don't like having yellow nail varnish either so that's probably another reason why I'm disappointed - I think these will come off straight away!

Opinions!?

Oh & here's a cute pic I took of yesterday's sunset!

Day 2

Orange Nails!

Unlike yesterday I'm really pleased with how these came out!

So, for my orange nails I couldn't think of anything that had orange as the background then I saw this bag! & I just thought... PERFECT! Orangeeee!
I used Topshop's 'Plume' as the base, which is two-tone navy and purple, and I love it! Even though it's pretty impossible to photograph as being two-tone, it's either one or the other!
I think they're quite summery as well, which is great as today was actually sunny for once, which never happens here in rainy old England!
I can't tell you what the orange is called but it's from a nail art set from Topshop that I got for Christmas and can't find on the website any more! :-)

Sonny wanted to be in my pictures too probably because he's orange ;) but he kept getting in the way and purring. I know it might look a bit funny but he's still happy as larry with my hands on his face!

& here's a cute picture of my guiney-pig, Rabbit. He's only got one eye and he's the cutest thing in the world! He's my brother's really but I want him.

Hope you like!

Sunday 2 June 2013

Day 1

Red Nails

Barry M, Gelly Nail Effects - Blood Orange

I didn't really know what to do or where to start with the idea of red nails, I was gonna do strawberries because they're cute but I've seen so many strawberry nails recently and I didn't think mine could match up! I might attempt later...
These were inspired by someone else's nails that I found - as I was so stuck I thought it was acceptable for the first day - which you can see here!

I'm not a massive fan of them, even though they were so easy! but they were really hard to photograph because my camera was playing up - I think they looked better in real life!

Hope you like :) !!

Tuesday 28 May 2013

I already run a blog on Tumblr (thenailphile) so you can take a look there for some of my old designs,
I'm also going to be starting this challenge soon - although not on a daily basis but still the 31 challenges!

Keep your eyes peeled!

+follow on tumblr if you're not already :-)
So, here we go..
Attempting #1 at using blogspot.

So far, it's not going too well.
I don't understand any of it,
& I don't understand why I have a weird kind of purple beach scene in the background.

HELP!
